Buying a cheap mp3 player and a camera with $200 seems like an impossible task, but it actually isn't. I guess it all depends on the experience you had with different brands, but I always recommend the brands I've been happy with until now.

I have a Canon S2 for about two years now and it worked flawless, this is why I would recommend you to buy a canon, and I've seen Amazon features a promotion for Canon PowerShot SD770 for about $160, which would be a perfect choice given that it has image stabilization too (see first source).

As for mp3 player, I'm pretty happy with my Sansa m250 (has 2gb) and it costs about $35 via amazon (see second source).

It all depends what you want to do with it. If you want an mp3 player that plays your songs and does it well, then you should go with a cheaper one. For instance, Sansa does good mp3 players and a popular one is the m250 one which lets you store 2gb and you can listen to your songs. Sells for about $30 (at least on amazon, see source) so it's very cheap.

When you pay $150 for an ipod you also pay for the brand, their marketing and also the slick design, but the functionality is pretty much the same of a cheaper one. Also, Zune isn't a cheap brand, it's as expensive as the ipod. So if you want to be cool among your friends, you should go with the ipod though the functionality is the same as Sansa's.

Sandisk sansa e260 is a good choice, so you should go with that. I don't know what you mean by being too expensive, it all depends on where you're buying it from, Amazon has it for under $60.

Furthermore, if you're willing to wait about one month I'm sure there'll be some promotions since Christmas is coming so more possibilities for other price drops.

Conclusion, buy sansa but track price drops (see the lifehacker link in the source, as it describes pricepinx which monitors several shops).

You'll need luck as normally an 80GB Zune costs at least $200. Wait a little more for the Christmas period and monitor online stores such as amazon for price drops; don't be afraid of buying on the internet (as long as it's a trusted source) since you'll get it cheaper than buying it from a retailer.

What you're looking for is an mp3 player that has video playback capabilities too. There are lots of them (including the ipod, sony psp) but the problem is that the prices aren't as low as $50.

Examples:
- a 4Gb iPod nano silver with video playback options, sells for about $76 as refurbished (see first source), and $100 as new
- a Creative Zen 4 GB with video playback sells for about $65 as refurbished, or as new for around $85-90 (see second source)

These are quite good compared to their prices and your requirement, of course that higher performance ones are available too but those easily go above $100. My opinion would be to go for the ipod, i have one and works great.

Stay out of the last one (onyx player), as you'll see there are enough people complaining about its quality.

I would go for sansa e250, probably the best buy for the buck, but I would make a little effort and instead of paying $30 for a "quality refurbish" I would pay $50 for a new one (see source) because, well, new is new.

Well amazon prices for 4gb players start at $20 (new ones) but if you want a decent brand you will have to pay at least $40 (the Coby 4GB flash player looks very nice, see source).

I recommend SanDisk Sansa m250 (2 GB). Sansa is a good brand for mp3 players, and (I think) it's very cheap too, as it costs about $30 (via Amazon, see source). 2gb is plenty of storage space too, the audio quality is very good too, and I've been using this for about 1 year now without any problems. Sure it's not as shiny as an iPod, but it does what's supposed to do and it does it good.
